Welcome to ASFG, the best middle school on the planet! Here at ASFG, learning is an enjoyable and challenging experience. The possibilities at ASFG are endless. Our teachers are very creative and always encourage us to do our best. These brilliant teachers are also the ones responsible for making ASFG students community contributors, purposeful learners, creative and critical thinkers, and great researchers. In addition, ASFG offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities; if you don’t already have a sport or hobby, you’ll be sure to find something you’ll enjoy.  Trying out new things is a big part of the ASFG experience.  ASFG also recognizes students’ needs to just have fun! ASFG sponsors social events throughout the year which give students an opportunity to meet new friends and just have a good time.  Its most popular event, the annual party known as “Rec-Night,” is an exciting bash which turns the school into a modernized party machine! It is a truly awesome experience. So, if you’re looking for the ultimate learning adventure, ASFG is definitely the school for you.

If you like reading or even if you don’t, you will love our two huge libraries with computers. This school is like a big sandwich with the best education in Mexico seasoned with a lot of fun. This is ASFG Middle School.

Welcome to ASFG Middle School! You’re probably wondering why “movie,” well it is one of the creative aspects among many that M.S. has! Every year, our fifth graders come up with a theme that will represent M.S. for a whole year, and we kind of get involved with the theme and create an environment related to it. ASFG is all about creativity, learning, and becoming a better person. In M.S, you become more responsible and start to take responsibility for your actions. Here in ASFG M.S you can join many communities, like extra curricular activities, model U.N, and make field trips. Some of them are for sports, others are for conferences or competitions. And we also have class field trips as well as service learning. Every year, each grade has a field trip, where we learn by visiting historical places, or learning teamwork and support. Service learning is a program we have where we help people in need. Sometimes we attend to their facilities to help and collaborate, as we understand other aspects of life and learn to cooperate. We help people who really need it, emotionally and economically,.  ASFG M.S. is a great place to grow and it is the best school ever! Don’t think twice and come right away! It’s worth it!

There is nothing "middle" about Middle School at ASFG. Why is Middle School a great learning experience? Middle School is organized to provide an exciting learning experience. When you come to Middle School you get more freedom than elementary school but you are still in a structured learning environment with multiple teachers. In Middle School we are exposed for the first time to the Student Council. The Student Council allows students to lead and gain confidence by standing up for what they want to change about school. Middle School also gives students the chance to learn outside of school with service learning projects. Each grade helps different parts of our community; my favorite one was visiting and helping blind girls. Middle School also has a variety of teachers, which specialize in one subject. Middle School has helped me mature because I got the chance to have different teachers for each subject. Whoever thinks that Middle School is just to hit the books is wrong. At ASFG Middle School fun is added on a daily basis. For example, this year the theme for Middle School is “Movie Middle School,” and year round we will incorporate movies to Middle School. In addition, Middle School has a diversion class on Friday called Advisory, where students learn different topics together as a class. Advisory helps kids get motivated and learn as a class. I think Middle School at ASFG is a great place to learn, explore new freedoms and prepare our way to High School.

So…ready…set…action…Middle School!

I am a middle school student. I have experienced an incredible school life here at ASFG.  I’ve been in this awesome institution for more than 8 years and enjoy the way teachers teach with fun games. I’ve been pushed further than just learning another language, I have been taught to be a better person. Service learning is one of my sources to help me value what I have and to be a more generous, giving person. I have learned new ways to lower global warming, I recycle and my school does too. We all are community contributors as we set an example for other people. I’m technologically literate which gives me better opportunities in my future. Furthermore, we have the most prepared teachers who give us the most meaningful education. The American School provides us with a good learning environment, they think about our needs and help us in every way they can. I am proud to be in this school.

Dear Reader,

As an ASFG student and a student who has been to several different schools, I would say that ASFG is definitely the best school I’ve ever attended!  There’s not a single school you could find in all of Guadalajara that’s better, and that’s a fact.  I’m in 7th grade, so you’d think “what does he know?”  But as a matter of fact, my brother (10th grade) and my sister (9th grade) both are also enjoying the school a lot, along with its infinite amount of after-school activities.  You have probably read about other schools with their intriguing blurbs of success such as, “we have an amazing math curriculum” or “we have great after-school stuff” etc.  But ASFG has it all!  We’ve got an advanced, but not too tough, curriculum in every class.  We have fun, amazing and humorous teachers who actually teach.  Our school also has welcoming and friendly kids, awesome lunches, classes that teach English, Japanese, German, etcetera. We have fun and active P.E. classes (with cool uniforms) and a lot more which I can’t fit on this paper!  The American School Foundation of Guadalajara is the right choice of school for you, and I’m 100% positive of that!

Enjoy the school!

Will, 8th grade

Lights…………………Camera………………………Middle School!!

Welcome to Movie Middle School 2008-2009. As you might already know, our precious school focuses 100% on improving our student’s English and Spanish as a second language so that in the future we can be successful in everything we do. Here at middle school, we have this amazing project called “Service Learning.” This project helps us learn how life is for other people and to get the chance to help them. According to the grade the students are, they get to go to a school for blind girls, to an orphanage, a hospital for kids who have kidney problems, or a community on the south of the city called La Huizachera. We also have school trips, which usually take about a week. In that week, depending on what grade students are, teachers take us to a different state in Mexico. During this trip students are able to have contact with nature, breathe fresh air and walk a lot. For students who like being leaders, we have The Student Council and The Model United Nations. If students join The Student Council they can run to be the whole middle school’s President, Vice president, Secretary, Historian or Treasurer. Model United Nations is more for those students who like to argue because this “club” focuses on debates.  These are just a few of the amazing activities we have here at middle school, but there are more that students enjoy a lot.
