6th Guanajuato Cuna de Independencia
During the month of November, our 6th graders take a five-day trip to rediscover the Trail of Independence (Cuna de Independencia), one of Mexico’s most treasured historical routes, through an exciting, fun-filled learning excursion. The purpose of this trip is to explore Mexican History using an inter-disciplinary approach which draws from Math, Science, , Social Studies, Spanish, and Mexican Culture. Some of the places visited include the aqueduct of Querétero, El Centro of San Miguel de Allende, a glass factory and Independence Museum of Doloras Hidalgo, and a full city tour of Guanajuato: mummy museum, theatre, Diego Rivera Museum plus a surprise musical performance! All this and much, much more provides the 6th graders with an amazingly fun learning experience!
